BROOKS – Cane berries will be the topic of focus during “Depot Day,” scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Brooks Depot Museum in Powerland Heritage Park, 3995 Brooklake Road, just off the Brooks I-5 exit.

The event is free and will feature old-fashioned and berry themed games, such as pie pan golf, stamping art, pie-eating contests, berry-pie contests and crafts. Master Gardeners will be on hand.

Attendees are urged to bring a picnic lunch, while berry cobbler desserts will be available to purchase. The berry pie eating contest will be at 12:30 p.m., and judging of berry pie entries will begin at 1 p.m. The museum has a large display all about cane berries, including raspberries, logan berries and Marion Berries, sponsored by the Oregon Raspberry and Blackberry Commission .
