The offenses went quiet for the next few minutes before Jordan Wieland got the first bucket for Red Lake Falls at 3:00 into the game. The teams traded two-pointers before Fertile Beltrami’s Madison Stueness hit a three to give the Falcons a 7-4 lead. The Falcons extended their lead to 12-6 when Sidney Erickson hit a three-point shot.

HIGHLAND SCHOOL ABOVE EXPECTED IN MATH AND READING
The US News and World Report came out with their yearly findings and found that Highland School performs better in math and reading than other school districts with similar population groups. The state of Minnesota has state averages, and Highland Schools were 51% proficient in math and 53% proficient in reading, which is about 8% above expected for a school with population groups similar to Crookston’s.

The Roseau Rams won their road game against the Thief River Falls Prowlers. The team put in a strong effort and got a shutout. The game ended 7-0. The Prowlers host Sauk Rapids-Rice on Friday at 7:30 p.m. CST at Ralph Engelstad Arena. The Rams will face Brainerd on Saturday at 4 p.m. CST at Brainerd.
