Holsteins, a burger joint in the Cosmopolitan known for its over-the-top burgers and shakes, is closing this summer, Eater can confirm. Stacia Stephens, the president of Gen3 Hospitality, said in a statement provided to Eater Vegas that employees of the restaurant were notified of the closure on Friday, May 10, and are being encouraged to re-apply to the hospitality group’s next restaurant, which is currently in development.

An icon of New Orleans’s live jazz scene, the Palm Court Jazz Cafe, is closing after 35 years, says owner Nina Buck. Buck posted a message to the venue’s website earlier this week, noting the Palm Court would permanently close its doors on June 2. “We regret this decision but we have had to make it for a variety of reasons; financial and rising costs have made it impossible for us to continue and maintain our high standards,” Buck wrote. Trad jazz has been a thing at Palm Court Jazz Cafe since 1989, where Nina and George Buck hosted legendary New Orleans musicians like Danny Baker and Topsy Chapman. It was a reliable, nostalgic destination for dinner and a show, with longtime chef Bobby Davis cooking up New Orleans classics like fried oysters, gumbo, and crab cakes with Hollandaise. The Palm Court’s final shows are scheduled Wednesday through Sunday nights through through the end of May; call for reservations.

It’s a good year to be a boba fan: Multiple international chains have announced or opened first-time expansions to New York in recent months, including Hey Tea, famous for its cheese tea. Next up is Chicha San Chen, a Taiwanese chain known for its devoted fanbase, who say its teas are stronger than competitors because the leaves are hand-picked in Taiwan. The chain will open its first New York location at 72-74 Bayard Street, near Mott Street, on Thursday, May 16, from noon to 6 p.m. A grand opening celebration with free tea will take place on Saturday, May 18.

Texas French Bread owner Murph Willcott shared some updates about the beloved restaurant/bakery’s rebuilding trek after a fire destroyed the physical space in early 2022 through the newsletter. Amid his opines on the history of the 2900 Rio Grande Street address and his childhood in Austin and the restaurant experiences he had as a youth, Willcot wrote that he’s working on securing the building permit with the City of Austin soon. That means construction would start in July and the goal is to open the brand-new space in the summer of 2025. He also included a rendering of what the new Texsas French Bread could look like. Currently, it’s operating as a food truck with garden space at the Rio Grande address.
