QUEENS, NY – The Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz has recently declared that Shemecca Wise has been arraigned on charges of attempted murder and attempted assault.
She allegedly pushed an 18-year-old woman onto the tracks at the 75th Street-Elderts Lane J train station.
The incident occurred on Monday, between roughly 10:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The victim managed to climb off the tracks but was left with a laceration and significant knee pain.
Wise, a 26-year-old resident of Elderts Lane, Brooklyn, was arraigned the following day on charges of attempted murder in the second degree and attempted assault in the first degree.
Queens Criminal Court Judge Wanda Licitra has ordered Wise to return to court on June 8.
Upon conviction of the attempted murder charge, Wise could be sentenced to up to 25 years in prison.
