At least 14 injured, 1 critically, in NYC crash involving MTA bus and multiple cars

A crash involving an MTA bus and several cars in Brooklyn Sunday night left more than a dozen people injured and one woman in critical condition, according to officials.  

The chaotic scene played out around 8:30 p.m. near Essex Street and New Lots Avenue in East New York when a bus collided with other cars, police said. At least six vehicles were caught up in the crash, the NYPD said.

And at least 14 people were injured, the FDNY said, according to multiple news stations.

A 44-year-old woman was rushed to the Brookdale Hospital in critical condition after first responders found her unresponsive and unconscious in a sedan at the scene, police said.

The other injuries were all minor, the NYPD said.

Details about the crash were sparse as the investigation is ongoing.

All drivers involved in the crash remained at the scene, police said.
