Woman raped, beaten in Brooklyn driveway; suspect sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A man dragged a woman into a Brooklyn driveway, where he raped and beat her over the weekend, police said Wednesday.

Newly released images from the NYPD show the man wanted in the horrifying attack in Sunset Park on Saturday morning.

The 49-year-old victim was walking around 27th Street and Fifth Avenue at 3 a.m. when the man tried to start a conversation with her.

He then pushed her to the ground, threatened her and pulled her into a nearby driveway, where he raped her, police said.

He then demanded that she perform additional sex acts on him. When she refused, he punched her in the head, according to police.

After the assault, he fled on foot eastbound on 27th Street and then northbound on Fifth Avenue, police said.

The victim was hospitalized for her injuries.

The suspect is of medium build and has short, dark hair, according to police. He was last seen wearing a black bubble coat, a black shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
