Early morning Highway 139 collision, west of Milan, injures driver and two teenage girls
An early morning collision on Highway 139, approximately 13.5 miles west of Milan, resulted in multiple injuries on Friday, April 26. The accident involved a 2013 Mack truck traveling west and a northbound 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 7:37 a.m. when the Mack failed to yield and struck the Jeep.

Chillicothe council backs new police recruitment with funding program
The Chillicothe City Council approved a police recruitment program on April 29, which includes a recruitment reimbursement agreement. According to City Clerk Amy Hess, the agreement requires police officers to commit to working at the police department for at least three years and covers up to $6,000 of a recruit’s police academy tuition.

NCMC Upward Bound Program Accepting Applications
The Upward Bound program at North Central Missouri College in Trenton is now recruiting and accepting participant applications for the 2024-2025 school year. High School students from Brookfield, Chillicothe, Gallatin, Hamilton, Trenton, and Tri-County are invited to submit applications through their school counselor. The priority deadline for Upward Bound applications is Wednesday, May 8th. Students are encouraged to apply online at the Upward Bound website. Applications are also available through the guidance office at each school.

The honorees included soloists Adan Callejo Armendariz of Milan on soprano clarinet, Matthew Rollinson of Marceline on keyboard mallet, James Kochenderfer of Maysville on trumpet, and Jocelyn Kirou of Maysville for a contra clarinet solo.
