MOUNT EDEN, the Bronx (PIX11) — A man was killed and three others were injured in a shooting in the Bronx Tuesday evening, police said.

The shooting happened at East Mount Eden and Townsend avenues in Mount Eden around 6:15 p.m., according to the NYPD.

Two gunmen riding on scooters rode up and opened fire at a group of men standing on a corner at the intersection, according to NYPD Assistant Chief Benjamin Gurley. The motive of the shooting remained under investigation, police said.

A 29-year-old man was fatally shot in his chest, police said. The three other victims were shot in the leg, according to police. The victims’ ages range from 23-37 years old, officials said.

“The perpetrators wore masks and hoodies to block their identities. And then they fled on the scooters northbound on Townsend Avenue toward the Cross Bronx Expressway,” Gurley said.

Gurley said one man has been taken into custody, but police are unsure if he is directly tied to the shooting.
