The Broken Bow Spirit 16/18U team split a doubleheader with the Sandhills Storm on Wednesday. The Bow Spirit took game one 9-5. Lily Thornton pitched a complete game for the win giving up five runs on eight hits and striking out four. Cassidy Schweitzer helped lead the offense finishing 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. Dalila Grifiths was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Tessa Nichols also had a multi-hit game going 2 for 3 with 3 RBI.
In game two, Sandhills jumped out to a 7-0 lead after four innings and won by a final of 7-2. Laney Holcomb and Adyson Priest each had multi-hit games. Holcomb finished 2 for 2 and Priest was 2 for 3.
The Bow Spirit is 6-5 on the season.
