On Thursday, the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce reported that Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation held a press conference to announce Alfa Laval would be moving its manufacturing from Tonawanda, New York to Broken Arrow.
This announcement is said to result in 30 new jobs in Broken Arrow with an average wage of $66,000 with benefits included.
Alfa Laval can leverage its existing factories in the area and create a center for air-cooled heat exchangers while maintaining sales, engineering, service, and support in the Buffalo region.
Jennifer Conway, president and CEO of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation, stated the following in the announcement:
We are pleased to see an already thriving manufacturer in Broken Arrow announce their expansion plans by moving business from New York to Broken Arrow. This move will bring 30 new jobs to Broken Arrow and has the potential to impact our local economy by $13.9 million per year. Broken Arrow and the State of Oklahoma have continually demonstrated our commitment to the expansion of Alfa Laval over the years by investing in public improvements to ensure they had the access they needed for continued growth.
Alfa Laval Air Group General Manager Brandy Moore also expressed enthusiasm regarding the announcement.
“Alfa Laval is proud to have the opportunity to partner with the Broken Arrow community to continue to grow our business," said Moore. "The support we get from the community and state have enabled us to be competitive and support our customers throughout the hemisphere.”
Moore also said because of Broken Arrow's pro-business environment and the support Alfa Laval and its suppliers receive, the company expects Broken Arrow to remain a great place to grow its manufacturing for years to come.
Alfa Laval officials added that Wet Surface Air Coolers and newly released HYAC Hybrid Air Cooler products will continue to be manufactured and supported. They assured customers can continue to receive and expect the same standards and quality of the products manufactured.
