Broken Arrow PTA puts on field day for students with special needs

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
Broken Arrow Public Schools hosted a field day for students with special needs.

The PTA organized a variety of games and sporting events on the freshman academy football field.
Students could take part in a giant game of checkers, golf and tennis, and even inflatable ax throwing.
"We just kinda created the day for them to come out and play, and just have some fun," said Broken Arrow PTA Council Special Education Chair Emma Schlais. "Have something for everybody, for every ability, just come out and have a day of fun."
She says this was their first year doing this but it was such a success they don't expect it to be their last.
