SO DOUG AND ANTOINETTE, THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT ACCORDING TO BROCKTON POLICE, THOSE 211 YEAR OLDS HAVE NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. BUT THEY WERE SENT TO BOSTON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL. NOW, NEIGHBORS HERE IN BROCKTON SAY THAT THEY HEARD THIS CRASH LAST EVENING AND THEN LOOKED OUTSIDE AND SAW THOSE TWO YOUNG BOYS IN THE STREET, NOT MOVING. ONE BOY WAS THEN FLOWN TO THE HOSPITAL AS A PRECAUTION. NOW, POLICE SAY THE DRIVER DID STAY ON SCENE AND THAT IT’S UNCLEAR WHAT LED TO THIS CRASH. BUT NEIGHBORS SAY DESPITE THE SCHOOL ZONE CRASHES HAPPENED IN THIS AREA, FAR TOO OFTEN. FOR 20 YEARS, I’VE BEEN SEEING SO MANY ACCIDENTS THAT I, I LOST COUNT. THEY SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE ONE OF MY FRIENDS NEXT TIME IS NOT GOING TO BE IN THIS TOWN BECAUSE THERE’S TOO MANY. Two children were struck by a vehicle next to a Brockton, Massachusetts, school on Tuesday afternoon, police said. The incident happened in the area of 1150 Warren Ave., which is near the Huntington Alternative School, around 5 p.m.According to police, the victims, two 11-year-olds, were transported to a nearby hospital with what police said were serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police said one of the victims was later flown to Boston Children's hospital while the other person was transported by ambulance to the hospital. The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene, according to police. People who live in the neighborhood heard the sound of a bang and saw the two young boys in the street, not moving. "I turned the corner to see there were two kids lying on the ground a few feet from the car and they weren’t moving," Adriana Medina said. "It was really scary."Neighbors say despite the school zone, crashes happen in the area far too often.They say the numerous signs in the area don't work, and the flashing yellow light over the intersection is obscured by a tree. "It’s a very bad intersection, I wish they’d do something," Adela DePina, a neighbor, said. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
