A teenager accused of a deadly stabbing in Bridgeport had his case transferred to adult court on Wednesday as police released a picture of another person allegedly connected to the homicide.

Khalil McIntosh, 18, was arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on charges of murder and possession of a dangerous weapon in the death of Trevon Pierce, 18, a former classmate. Pierce, who was a senior at Bassick High School, was killed while walking down Park Avenue with a friend on his way to Seaside Park on Memorial Day.

Police arrested McIntosh Monday but couldn’t release his name because McIntosh was 17 at the time of the homicide. His identity became public Wednesday afternoon when a judge ordered he be tried as an adult as is mandated by state law due to the severity of the charges. The judge set bond at $1 million.

Pierce’s godmother was in court and told News 12 after, “It's a sad thing all the way around for both sides.”

According to McIntosh’s arrest warrant, McIntosh told police he stabbed Pierce in self-defense, but police said that account was contradicted by witness statements and video of the incident.

The warrant said McIntosh and another person were following Pierce and his friend and attacked them from behind just around 7:40 p.m. Police said the motive was a previous disagreement between them but did not elaborate. The warrant also said McIntosh was expelled from Bassick this year for bringing a “shank” to school.

On Wednesday, police asked for help identifying the person who was with McIntosh.

“There were other people in the area at this time. Most notably, this individual whose photo we released today, and we're looking to identify this person in the hopes that he can provide more information as far as what went on before this crime, during this crime, and in the aftermath of the crime,” Detective Jeffrey Holtz told News 12.

Holtz asked anyone with information to call the police department’s homicide unit at 203-581-5293 and said all information will be kept confidential.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim in this case. We've met with them, and we express our condolences on behalf of the entire Bridgeport Police Department and the city of Bridgeport,” Holtz said.
