The Bridge City Little League is honoring a Groves teenager who died in a boating accident, painting the initials 'CC' on the field in memory of 14-year-old Conner Curtice, who died in a Memorial Day boating accident.

The initials were painted on the field in time for tonight's Bridge City Little League All-Star game.

Blake Stronecheck used his drone to capture the dramatic view looking down on the field with the newly-painted initials.

Bridge City Little League posted a statement on its Facebook page:

"While we may be opponents on the field, the baseball and softball communities in our area are one big family. In honor of Conner Curtice and his family, Conner's initials will be painted on our fields as well as on our players' helmets. We at BCLL send our heartfelt condolences to the Curtice family. Rest easy Conner, you have the best seat in the house."

Parents and fans offered overwhelming support to Conner's family.

Elizbeth Kuykendall is working the concession stand at the game. She let KFDM/Fox 4 know about the tribute, and how the baseball/softball community is coming together for Conner and his family.

"We are all saddened by this tragic accident," says Kuykendall. "It breaks my heart for all the family. We are a baseball/softball family."

The tribute drew an overwhelming response and show of support.

"This is so amazing I'm crying," one woman posted on Facebook.

Another posted, "Oh my heart! We have such an amazing community!

"Love this" and "so sweet" were posted several times.

"Wow, thank you BC" wrote another person.

"Nothing can ease their pain, but I love that all of SETX is behind them during this tragic time," wrote another person.

Visitation for Conner is Saturday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Encounter Church in Groves, followed by his funeral. Levingston Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
