In 2001, Matt Christensen was the captain of the Augustana football team and was eager to break into the high school football coaching ranks after graduation. Kim Nelson, then head coach at Sioux Falls Washington, heard that Christensen wanted to get into coaching and told him to keep in touch.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The No. 11 Northern State University wrestling team handed Sioux Falls their first NCAA Division II loss, defeating the Cougars by 36. The Wolves out-scored the Cougars 93-20 in individual dual competition recording one major decision, four technical falls, and three victories by fall.

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Augustana diving squads took to the pool on Thursday and Friday in Rochester, Minnesota, as part of the Rochester Invite. In the divers-only event, Avery Lommel and David Binsfeld each recorded school records in the 11-dive events. The Sioux Falls School District will be actively working to “adjust” boys’ participation in sports and increase female participation to ensure compliance with Title IX, after being named in a lawsuit filed by SFSD parents of current and future gymnasts when the sport was discontinued for the 2023-24 school year.
