Authorities in East Ridge are on the hunt for an accused fentanyl dealer wanted in Bradley County who escaped custody on Thursday.
A post on the East Ridge Police Department (ERPD)'s Facebook page says Joseph Osterland "escaped from police custody."
ERPD put out the word about Osterland's escape a little after 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The post was later updated just before 11 p.m. saying authorities stopped searching for him in the immediate area.
The post says Osterland was believed to have been in the area of Dover Lane, Fike Drive and McBrien Road before the search was called off late Thursday.
"[Osterland] is wanted out of Bradley County and garnered fentanyl charges (1000 doses) upon his arrest today,' the Facebook post says.
Osterland is 6' 6", weighs 220 pounds and has blue eyes and brown hair.
He was last seen wearing blue shorts, slides and a black shirt.
