Holy Week and Easter Services

Brackenridge

• A community Good Friday service, “The Seven Last Words of the Cross,” will be from noon to 3 p.m. April 7 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 847 10th Ave., Brackenridge. Each word will be presented by a different local minister and accompanied by special music. Come for all or part of the service.

• St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 989 Morgan St., will distribute Blessed Palms from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until supplies run out Sunday on the Morgan Street side of the church. Details: 724-224-9280.

Freeport

• The public is welcome to join a “Way of the Cross Walk” set to begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary, Mother of God Church, 608 High St. The walk will end at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 323 Fifth St., where there will be a reception in the church hall.

• A nondenominational Tenebrae service will be at 8:30 p.m. Friday at St. Mary, Mother of God Church, 608 High St. The service will include music and readings from the Passion of Jesus.

Leechburg

Leechburg Ministerial Association will sponsor a Good Friday Cross Walk at 2 p.m. April 7. The event will begin and end at First United Methodist Church, 251 Main St., and include a short walk with prayer.

Lower Burrell

Grace Community Presbyterian Church, 2751 Grant St., will have a Palm Sunday service at 10 a.m. Sunday. The Maundy Thursday will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and the Easter Sunday worship service will be at 10 a.m. April 9.

New Kensington

The Holy Name Society of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church will sponsor a seven-church bus tour around 7:45 p.m. Thursday after the 6:30 p.m. Holy Thursday service at the church, 857 Kenneth Ave. Cost: $12. Checks should be made payable to St. Mary Holy Name Society. Reservations are required. For reservations, call 724-335-8212.

Springdale

Springdale Open Bible Church, 401 Colfax St., will have a Good Friday service at 2 p.m. Friday and an Easter Sunday service at 10 a.m. April 9.

Vandergrift

Vandergrift First United Methodist Church will have an Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. April 9 at pavilion 11 at Northmoreland Park, Allegheny Township. Coffee, hot chocolate and doughnuts will be served.

Washington Township

Union Presbyterian Church, 656 Route 380, will have a Palm Sunday service at 11 a.m. Sunday; a Maundy Thursday service with Communion at 7 p.m. Thursday; and Stations of the Cross with an informal walk-through from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. An Easter sunrise service will be at 8 a.m. April 9 with breakfast served in the fellowship hall. The regular Easter service will be at 11 a.m. April 9.

West Deer

Bull Creek United Presbyterian Church, 224 Tarentum Culmerville Road, will have an Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. at the church, and a light brunch will be served afterward. Sunday School will be at 9:45 a.m., and the regular Easter service will be at 11 a.m. An egg hunt will be after the 11 a.m. service.
