Scattered showers & locally severe t-storms returning to parts of the Heartland
Across the Corn Belt, spotty showers and thunderstorms have returned parts of the region, extending from the western Great Lakes, southwestward. Meanwhile, warm weather is returning across the southwestern Corn Belt, well in advance of an approaching storm system. By April 28, more than one-quarter (27%) of the nation’s intended corn acreage had been planted, ahead of the 5-year average of 22%.
