Buena Vista Road closed, three light poles damaged
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A portion of Buena Vista Road is closed from 5936 Buena Vista Road to 6028 Buena Vista Road due to damage caused to three light poles. According to Columbus Consolidated Government the road is expected to be closed until 6 p.m. and officials are working to repair the damage.
Sunshine Making a Return Midweek
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The rain moved out of the area early this morning, but don’t put away the umbrellas just yet. This evening and for the first part of the night expect scattered rain and storms. Some storms this evening and tonight have the potential to be on the strong side, producing some isolated pockets of gusty winds and lots of lightning. Conditions will begin to dry out during the second part of the night, with some areas of patchy fog developing overnight and lingering into Wednesday morning. The sunshine makes a return across the Valley Wednesday and Thursday with temperatures in the low- to mid-80s Wednesday and the mid- to upper-80s on Thursday. The next storm system makes its way into the Valley late week; expect scattered showers and storms Friday and into Saturday. We will continue to fine tune the timing and coverage here as this next system approaches the area. After Saturday expect a drier stretch of weather to return to the Valley, with temperatures once again warming into the upper-80s to low-90s by the middle of next week. Memorial Day is just 13 days away, so stay tuned for your Memorial weekend forecast!
