Bowling Green Police Division arrested a 13-year-old boy on Saturday morning for reportedly trying to gain entry to the coin operated washers and dryers at Kirk’s Coin Laundry, 709 S. Main St.

The owner of the laundry showed police a dryer that had been tampered with, causing an estimated $100 damage to the appliance. Video at the business reportedly showed a male trying to gain entry into the locked office door, using a large barbecue fork. The video also reportedly showed the male trying to access multiple washers and dryers.

The video then shows the male with a bookbag leaving the laundry, getting on a bike and riding southbound. A description was relayed to other police units.

An officer located the boy matching the description, riding a bike south of the laundry.

The boy, from Rudolph, was arrested for breaking and entering, and transported to Wood County Juvenile Detention Center. A search of the bookbag reportedly revealed a large barbecue fork with one of the prongs bent down.
