Speakout Speakeasy for Hope Harbor

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The non-profit organization Hope Harbor is having a fundraising event Friday evening, themed after the 1920s.

Hope Harbor is a non-profit that assists with sexual trauma, hoping to empower those who have become victims of sexual abuse and assault and with their fundraiser at the end of the week, they’re hoping provide some info as to who they are and what they can offer.

They started in 2020 and of course they ran into a COVID issue, but they’re back this year and using the theme of speakeasies to draw a parallel to sexual assault.

Executive Director Melissa Whitley said to News 40 that the fundraiser will be a ticketed event, and though 1920s dress is encouraged, it’s not mandatory.

There will be live music, food and a silent auction going on. If you’re interested in swinging by, there’s still tickets available and Hope Harbor will be waiting for you Friday, June 2 at 7 p.m. in the Charleston.
