Jackrabbit Jog at Kereiakes Park benefitting PKD Foundation

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Monday morning, runners got to take on a 5K for a cause.

The Jackrabbit Jog made its return to Bowling Green today at Kereiakes Park, along with a kids fun run called the Bunny Hop and a 5 mile run.

The race gave runners a hilly challenge for their Memorial Day morning.

All of the proceeds earned today benefit the PKD Foundation’s research into Polycystic Kidney Disease, which has taken nearly 600,000 lives in the United States.

“Before this race, I didn’t even realize how many people in our local community have PKD or know somebody who does. So for me, it’s been a growing experience. It’s been a chance to learn more about PKD and in some way feel like I’m honoring my mother and my grandfather and my uncle to be able to save lives and to hopefully be able to make sure that nobody else has to suffer the loss that we did,” race director Ryan Dearbone says.

There will be another Jackrabbit Jog in Hopkinsville in September.
