Free rabies clinic from Neighborhood & Community Services

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Kentucky state law requires that all pets at least 4 months old must be vaccinated for rabies, so the city of Bowling Green decided to help the community out.

Brad Schargorodski, Divison Manager for Code Compliance and Animal Protection said they’ve come to realize that cost and transportation are a big reason why a lot of vet visits go unbooked, so to combat that they held a free clinic in Pedigo Park. Schargorodski said there will be more clinics this year and the idea is to have them within walking distance for various parts of the community.

Veterinarian Vicky McGrath with All Creatures Animal Hospital said it’s important to make our pets are vaccinated since they are between people and wild life. She also mentioned that there are different variants of rabies such as skunk, bat and dog which we all have in the SoKy community.
