Bowling Green storm debris pickup: What you need to know

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Starting this Monday, Bowling Green City crews will collect your recent storm debris from residential areas within city limits.

Residents, place all vegetation debris close to or within the rights of way. This could be anything from small branches, to large tree trunks, or torn-up root balls.

Please note that this debris collection only applies to vegetation.

The crews will follow the leaf pickup schedule, starting with Zone 1 on Monday, and working through all zones until completion.

This process is expected to take two to three weeks. Residents, you do not need to call the City to request a pickup.

City of Bowling Green Operations Manager David Delp said, “We have gone to some places already and started picking up, but now we want to do a set thing, give them a chance where they know that we’re coming. And that’s why we waited a couple of weeks to give everybody maybe a little time to get things and start getting them out to the curb if they could.”

Keep in mind, If you hire a contractor to remove trees and limbs, the contractor is responsible for disposing of your fallen vegetation.
