PARADISE VALLEY — After months of monetary and humanitarian donations, a group of local volunteers has been able to pack and send a filled shipping container to Ukraine. Clothing, medical supplies, books and much more came flooding in from the Boundary County community. Volunteers packed the donations in early September, but funds to ship the container slowly trickled in, leaving the boxes in storage until Nov. 22.

John Stein, who accidentally shot Joe Siek, a local blacksmith, in the left arm while deer hunting near Snyder on Nov. 17, will hunt no more. Last Sunday he was visited at his ranch by J.R. Meeker and W.H. Heathershaw and stated he would never take a gun into the woods again. SANDPOINT — Winter weather advisories are being issued across the region warning locals and visitors of heavy snowfall and high winds expected for this weekend. An advisory issued by the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office said that from 4 a.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday, the North Idaho Panhandle can expect up to 8 inches of snow. Other areas in Idaho are expecting between 2 and 6 inches. Wind gusts are likely to get up to 40 mph Saturday.
