from a teen who went to one "it's not that bad and that there are police there. of course there are kids drinking and smoking pot but there are cops there. everyone's making a big deal out of it and it's just a bunch of kids hanging out. nobody's doing anything really bad. and some homeless guy was filming us the whole time". these kid's parents pay taxes and the teens are in a public park with police presence. these things happen at schools every day. what's unsafe is our kids being watched as of they're all criminals. these kid's were shut in houses for months during COVID. I'm not saying unsavory things aren't happening but most of the kids are just there to be with other kids. let the teens congregate. expect to have police presence if that's needed. the teens need to meet the local police. create a relationship. teens can spend copious amounts of time in their rooms, their brains are on fire and they ALL have some kind of self esteem battle.
