Things to do in the Massachusetts area this weekend

Mass — It’s Memorial Day Weekend! If you don’t have a pool to open or a Cape Escape planned, Boston 25 has a few ideas for you.

Flip Circus

If you’re looking to take in a family-friendly show, head just over the Massachusetts state line into Salem, New Hampshire, and under the big red tent for the Flip Circus. The traveling circus has stopped right in the parking lot of the Rockingham Mall. The shows run through Memorial Day.

Memorial Day Flag Garden

If you’ll be in Boston, be sure to stop by the Boston Common to take in the annual Garden of Flags. 37,000 have been planted in memory of Massachusetts service members who have given their lives in the service of our country.

After you see the flag garden, you may also want to check out the carousel, the tadpole playground, and walk across the street to the public garden to take a ride on the Swan Boats.

Wareham Oyster Festival

And what better way to unofficially welcome summer than with some seafood? The Wareham Oyster Festival is this Sunday and starts with a 5K walk and run at 10 a.m. You can enjoy oysters and other seafood along with arts and crafts and live music until 5 p.m.

Many communities have parades or ceremonies planned this weekend in honor of Memorial Day. Check out your town website to see when those events are happening.

Wherever you go this weekend, HAVE FUN!
