BOSTON — Cape Cod native Casey Affleck took a moment to show some love to a dog on National Puppy Day while filming a movie in Boston on Thursday.

Video captured by a Boston 25 News photographer showed Affleck embracing an older black dog who was out on a morning stroll with its owner in the city’s Back Bay.

After giving the pup a good scratch, Affleck continued across the street onto the set of “The Instigators,” which also features fellow Massachusetts native Matt Damon.

Bova’s Bakery on Salem Street in the North End as been closed all week due to the massive production. An array of parking restrictions are in place on neighborhood streets.

Affleck and Damon have been spotted around the city as they take part in the production of the Apple Original film, which “follows two thieves who go on the run with the help of one of their therapists after a robbery goes awry,” Deadline reported.

The bakery closed on Monday. It will reopen on Saturday.
