Woman accused of driving recklessly, crashed into water on busy beach in central Florida
Video captures the moment a woman was questioned by deputies after witnesses say she was driving erratically on a beach in New Smyrna Beach.
On May 27, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) said deputies were dispatched to Smyrna Dunes Park, at 2995 N Peninsula Ave., after reports of a reckless driver that crashed into the water.
Witnesses told deputies that the driver plowed into the water after speeding down the beach at 50 mph near multiple families and their dogs — at one point — almost hitting a child.
