Rockwall Police Department responds to disturbance at Rockwall High School
ROCKWALL, TX (Sept. 13, 2024) – On Wednesday, September 11th, 2024 at approximately 1:30 pm, the Rockwall Police Department School Resource Officers assigned to Rockwall High School assisted school staff with a disturbance in progress. During the investigation, the student resisted the detention which required the officer to intervene. As a result, the student sustained an injury. Subsequent to the incident, the Rockwall Police Department received and is investigating a complaint alleging excessive force was used during the encounter. While there is no legal requirement and in the interest of transparency, the Rockwall Police Department has requested the Texas Rangers Division of the Texas Department of Public Safety to conduct the investigation.

Rockwall County Library expands program offerings for disabled adults

Governor Abbott announces Rockwall Designated Music Friendly Texas Certified Community
ROCKWALL, TX (Sept. 7, 2024) Governor Greg Abbott announced that the City of Rockwall has been designated by the Texas Music Office (TMO) as a Music Friendly Texas Certified Community after completing the multi-step certification process.
