CenterPoint Energy Launches Major Gas Infrastructure Overhaul in Minneapolis
Residents along Lake Street from Drew Ave. S. to Hiawatha Ave. can expect to see gas crews at work for the next few weeks. CenterPoint Energy has deployed their contractors to revamp the area's aging natural gas infrastructure. From April through June 2024, there's a grand-scale main replacement going on from James Ave. S. to Dupont Ave. S. Right on its heels, CenterPoint is moving indoors and meters outside in a gambit to modernize and bolster safety, as per the CenterPoint Energy - Minnesota.

St. Louis Park woman sentenced in deadly stabbing of husband
ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (FOX 9) - The St. Louis Park woman who pled guilty to the deadly stabbing of her husband last year has been sentenced. Alexis Poole, 24, was sentenced this week to 12.5 years behind bars for the death. Poole pled guilty in March to second-degree murder for the slaying. Under the plea deal, she agreed to serve 12.5 years behind bars while prosecutors dismissed a manslaughter count.
Lakeville squad car crash leaves unbelted man with life-threatening injuries
LAKEVILLE, Minn. (FOX 9) - A St. Paul man sustained life-threatening injuries in a crash involving a Lakeville squad car late Thursday night. The Lakeville Police Department said one of its officers in a squad car was involved in a collision around 10 p.m. at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and 205th Street.
Plymouth fatal crash: Man was playing YouTube video, changing clock, charges say
PLYMOUTH, Minn. (FOX 9) - A Brooklyn Park man is charged with vehicular homicide for a fatal crash that happened on Highway 169 in Plymouth last summer. Pheng Yang, 41, of Brooklyn Park, is charged with one count of criminal vehicular homicide in a crash that took the life of local hairstylist and makeup artist Cristina Restrepo on July 30, 2023. She left behind a 12-year-old son after she died at the hospital.
