Trayce Jackson-Davis leaves Indiana basketball as the career record holder in rebounds and blocked shots, and full of love for his four years with the Hoosiers.

TJD tweeted late Sunday, after IU lost to Miami in the second round of the NCAA tournament: "Its always Glory to the man above. Thank you Indiana Basketball for everything and welcoming me into your family. I wore that jersey with pride every time I stepped on the court. We went through some tough times, but this place is only going to get better. - Love TJD"

Jackson-Davis scored 23 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked five shots in the finale of a first-team All-American season in which he averaged 21.0 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.9 blocked shots and 4.0 assists. He has 2,258 career points, third most in IU history, and 1,143 rebounds and 270 blocked shots.

Doyel:IU needed to quit complaining. Instead, Hoosiers just flat out quit.

Insider:How Woodson helped Jackson-Davis elevate his game

In late February, the 2019 IndyStar Mr. Basketball said he was going to enter the 2023 NBA Draft, even though a "COVID year" would be available to him. He had planned to turn pro last year, but he contracted COVID just before the NBA Scouting Combine, and coach Mike Woodson convinced him to return to Bloomington.

The Hoosiers were likely headed to the NCAA tournament his freshman season in 2020 before COVID canceled the tournament. IU finished 12-15 his sophomore season, and IU replaced coach Archie Miller with Woodson. The Hoosiers won a play-in game in 2022 and a first-round game this year.
