Bloomington Police hope public’s help will lead to arrest of 2020 murder suspect

BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - Bloomington Police are renewing a request for the public’s help to find a murder suspect who’s been on the run for almost 2 1/2-years.

Jaleel Johnson, 20, was shot to death during the afternoon of Monday, October 12, 2020, in the 1600 block of Iowa Street on Bloomington’s west side. Two other men were wounded.

In the spring of 2021, police arrested Kevon Moon and Malcom Johnson on charges including murder and aggravated battery by discharging a firearm. They’re being held on $3 million bond and awaiting a July 13 hearing in McLean County Court.

Police have not found the third suspect, James Moon, who’s now 24.

James Moon is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, according to police.

Investigators also released a pair of photos to help the public identify James Moon, who is considered armed and dangerous.
