Dedicated to Eufaula Lake VFW Post 8798 Auxiliary President. In 2020, life changed for most people we know because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Men and women who previously had secure employment lost jobs; some became homeless. People were seriously ill; many died. Times were harder than usual for all of us. One summer day a man stopped by the Eufaula VFW Post 8798 in search of nourishment for his body. Two of our auxiliary members searched through our kitchen cabinets for something that would feed him. The ladies were able to find a meager supply of food to help. When our members shared this incident with the president of the auxiliary, a plan was put into effect to bring items to keep on hand in case the need would again arise. We began bringing a few cans of ready to eat food. Other members were informed of what we were doing. Soon more joined us in our efforts.
