State police in Hollidaysburg say three juveniles were apprehended Thursday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 99 northbound in Greenfield Township, Blair County.
Troopers say the teens, who are from Scranton, reportedly stole a vehicle in the city of Johnstown and then crashed it near miler marker 18 on I-99.
Police say the teens then fled the crash scene on foot, which prompted a lockdown at nearby Claysburg-Kimmel School District.
Investigators say the teens were found in a nearby wooded area approximately 2.5 miles north of the crash scene and were taken into custody without further incident.
Police say one of the juveniles was also reportedly in possession of a stolen handgun and money.
Troopers noted that the Blair County Juvenile Probation office was unable to take custody of the teens, following their arrest, due to capacity concerns.
Police say that "due to the inability to find placement for the juvenile suspects," they were released back into the custody of their guardians.
