Two incidents occurred in Blaine County, Idaho this week. In the first incident, a 72-year-old man was arrested for shooting someone at a park because he was annoyed by the victim's constant cellphone use. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. In the second incident, a Ketchum man drowned following a car crash. The body of the driver was recovered three days after the crash by the Gooding County Swift Water Rescue Team.

Idaho man accused of shooting victim because he was always on the phone
HAILEY, Idaho (TCD) -- Deputies arrested a 72-year-old man after he allegedly shot someone at a park because he was annoyed the victim was constantly on this cellphone. On Friday, Sept. 1, at around 11:30 a.m., Blaine County deputies and Hailey Police Department officers conducted a welfare check at Lion’s Park after receiving a report that someone was screaming for help. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound and transported him to a hospital for treatment. The Blaine County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect left the scene in a gray car.
Bellevue Resident Critically Injured in Rollover Crash on Highway 75: Local Road Closure Alert
A serious rollover accident occurred on State Highway 75 near Baseline Rd. in Bellevue, Idaho, on Sunday, September 10, 2023. The crash led to a highway closure. Deputies from the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office found a 2008 silver Ford Escape overturned at the scene. A broken wooden fence and a sheared-off telephone pole were also present. A live electrical wire had fallen, which led to the closure of the highway.
