Georgia Amoore etched her name in Women's NCAA Tournament history Friday with another prolific shooting display vs. LSU.

The Virginia Tech star from Australia sank four 3-pointers vs. the Tigers in the women's Final Four, setting the record for most 3-pointers in a single tournament with 24.

Amoore nabbed the record in the third quarter, sinking an open look to push herself to the top spot.

Unfortunately for Amoore, her reign alone at the top lasted less than a game as Iowa's Caitlin Clark hit five against South Carolina to tie her.

The Hokies needed every bit of Amoore's shooting Friday. Despite center Elizabeth Kitley's presence, LSU had the edge inside, outscoring their opponents by more than 20 points in the paint.

VT needed an answer. And it got one through its 3-point shooting. The Hokies hit six more triples than the Tigers for the game, but in the end, Virginia Tech fell 79-72 in the national semifinals.

Amoore, a junior, entered Friday's game shooting 34.9 percent from 3 this season. She hit 40 percent of her 3-ball attempts in each of her first two years in Blacksburg. She finished 4 for 15 from behind the arc against LSU.
