Waterloo woman arrested for trying to set vehicle on fire in 2022
WATERLOO — A Waterloo woman has been arrested for allegedly dousing a vehicle in gasoline and attempting to it set on fire in 2022. Black Hawk County sheriff’s deputies arrested 36-year-old Traynetta Brisha Monique Ford, 734 Wellington St., on Monday on a warrant for one count of second-degree arson. She was also arrested on a parole violation warrant and bond was set at $25,000.
Cedar Rapids couple injured in Black Hawk County OWI accident
A Cedar Rapids couple were injured when they struck a vehicle that ran a stop sign in BlackHawk County Friday afternoon. The incident occurred on US63 at East Cedar Wapsi Road, south of Denver, just before 3pm. The Iowa State Patrol says 45-year-old Matthew Matthias of Readlyn, Iowa, failed to yield to a Honda CRV driven by 60-year-old Charles Stone of Cedar Rapids. The Honda struck Matthias’ Toyota, injuring Stone and his passenger, 56-year-old Lily Stone.

Waterloo mother arrested for punching teenage daughter in the mouth
WATERLOO — A Waterloo woman has been arrested for allegedly punching her teen daughter in the mouth in 2022. Black Hawk County sheriff’s deputies arrested Amber Lynn Smith, 34, on Wednesday on a warrant for one count of child endangerment causing bodily injury and four counts of child endangerment. Bond was set at $7,000.
