BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Region 3 Champions Medina/Pingree/Buchanan Thunder were back at it on Saturday afternoon for the final day of the 2023 State Class B Boys Basketball Tournament at the Bismarck Events Center, they met the Region 4 champions, the Warwick Warriors in the seventh place game. Warrick jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after a Mark Fassett 3-pointer, but that would be their only lead of the game as MPB took control for the rest of the contest and they take home seventh place by defeating the Warriors 68-51. MPB will end their season at 22-6 overall, Warwick will end their season  at 19-9 overall.

Josh Moser had another stellar game, dropping in 29 points, including three 3-pointers, Rylan Wick had another great game as well, scoring 21, including four treys. Gage Magstadt added 10 points and eight rebounds for MPB. Warrick was led by Fasset with 17, two treys.

MPB will lose three Senior starters for next season, Josh Moser, Sawyer Wanzek and Adam McClellan.

This is the first year ever at the State B for the coop of Medina, Pingree and Buchanan. Medina went in 1981, Pingree/Buchanan went in 2006 as Pingree/Buchanan/Kensal.
