STILL A VERY ACTIVE AND CHIP VERY ACTIVE GUY. AND BRITTANY, WE CAN TELL YOU THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ROUGHLY TWO HOURS NOW AND A VERY BUSY KINGSTON NEIGHBORHOOD. PEOPLE STANDING ALL AROUND OBVIOUSLY VERY UPSET AND EVEN ANGRY ABOUT WHAT’S HAPPENING HERE TONIGHT. LET’S GET YOU TO SOME VIDEO NOW TO EXPLAIN WHERE EXACTLY WE ARE. WE’RE NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF NINTH AVENUE, NORTH AND 44TH PLACE NORTH OF OFFICER TRUMAN. FITZGERALD TELLS US ABOUT 8:00 TONIGHT. A GROUP OF PEOPLE, TWO GROUPS, ACTUALLY STARTED SHOOTING AT EACH OTHER. NUMEROUS ROUNDS FIRED. THE CALL INITIALLY CAME IN, A THREE PEOPLE BEING SHOT. BUT OFFICER FITZGERALD SAYS WHEN OFFICERS GOT HERE, THEY DETERMINED THAT JUST ONE PERSON WAS SHOT. HE UNFORTUNATELY DID NOT SURVIVE. OFFICER FITZGERALD ALSO TELLING US NUMEROUS SHOT SPOTTER CALLS CAME IN AROUND THE TIME THIS HAPPENED. OUR SHOTSPOTTER ALERTS HAVE REGISTERED U TO 90 PLUS ROUNDS. WE BELIEVE THERE WAS A SHOOTOUT THAT TOOK PLACE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE KINGSTON NEIGHBORHOOD. WE’RE TALKING TEN ROUNDS, 15 ROUNDS, EIGHT ROUNDS, 20 ROUNDS, 14 ROUNDS, SIX ROUNDS, ALL BEING FIRED IN SUCCESSION. AND OFFICER FITZGERALD TALKED ABOUT THE FACT THAT IT REALLY IS AMAZING THAT NO ONE ELSE WAS INJURED HERE TONIGHT. OBVIOUSLY BEEN A VERY VIOLENT WEEKEND. HE SAYS IN ALL, TEN PEOPLE ACROSS THE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM HAVE BEEN SHOT. POLICE SAY THEY NEED YOUR HELP. Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a man in the Kingston community on Memorial Day.Jaundarius Woods, 43, was killed just after 8 p.m. on 44th Place North during what police believe was a shootout. Stay up-to-date: The latest headlines and weather from WVTM 13 ShotSpotter picked up more than 90 rounds of gunfire, according to the Birmingham Police Department."We're talking 10 rounds, 15 rounds, eight rounds, 20 rounds, 14 rounds, six rounds, all being fired in succession," said Birmingham Police Department Public Information Officer Truman Fitzgerald.Police identified Demarco Griffin, 26, of Birmingham as a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest. A patrol officer spotted his vehicle on Friday at an apartment complex in east Birmingham. Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a man in the Kingston community on Memorial Day.

ShotSpotter picked up more than 90 rounds of gunfire, according to the Birmingham Police Department.

"We're talking 10 rounds, 15 rounds, eight rounds, 20 rounds, 14 rounds, six rounds, all being fired in succession," said Birmingham Police Department Public Information Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
