A fiery car crash left two people dead Sunday morning in Birmingham.
The driver, Brayan Isacc Colindres-Turcios, 24, and his passenger, Wilmer Jose Padilla, 22, both of Birmingham, died at the scene.
It happened on University Boulevard and 9th Street South around 3:30 a.m.
Officials say the vehicle was traveling eastbound on University Boulevard, at 8th Avenue Sout, when it hit a concrete bridge pillar under the Interstate 65 overpass.
The vehicle caught fire, and both people were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating what led to the crash.
