Birmingham police are looking for a group of people they say opened fire on a man Saturday evening.
Officers received a call at 5:15 p.m. about a shooting in the 1500 block of Avenue L in Ensley.
When they arrived, they saw a man on the sidewalk who had been shot several times.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue crews rushed him to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe that the victim was walking when he was approached by a group of people who fired rounds at him.
Dozens of evidence markers covered the street where it happened.
There is no one in custody.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald said this appears to be a targeted attack and is an isolated incident.
