To no one’s surprise, John Stermer earned the top spot on All-City, Senior Men’s Team with his outstanding performance in the Chilson-Wilcox Senior Men’s League. Therefore he is the mythical captain of this year’s team. John is joined on the First Team by Tim DeGraw, Bruce Stanton, Don Pierce and Ken Mattison.

John Stermer had one of the most impressive senior seasons at Crystal Lanes in quite a few years. He led the senior circuit with a 226 average that lacked five tenths of a point from being a 227 average for Quick Lube. John registered 11 scores over the 700 mark but the highlights of his season were a 300 game that was followed a few weeks later by an 804 series. It was the only perfect game and only 800 series of the season for a senior bowler.

Tim DeGraw, also known as the super senior sub, rolled enough games in the Chilson-Wilcox Senior Men’s League to qualify for All-City honors. He finished the season with a 219 average while tossing five scores over the 700 mark, which included a season-best 779 series.

Bruce Stanton is the third bowler out of the C-W League to make the First Team with his 211 average for Gentile Family Dentistry. He recorded four 700s with a season best 749 series. Don Pierce earned his berth on the First Team by compiling a 208 average in Go-Getters Mixed League. Don tossed three 700s in that league and also notched a pair of sevens while subbing for Picnic Pizza in C-W League. Ken Mattison rounds out the First Team by virtue of his 197 average in the Go-Getters League. Ken also finished with a 194 average for KSM Tools in the C-W League where he rolled a season best 725 series.

The Senior Men’s, All-City Second Team consists of Mike Hughson, Mike Dunn, Judd McAtee, Mike Goltry and Gary Gustin. All five of these guys competed in the Chilson-Wilcox Senior Men’s League.

Mike Hughson carded a 196 average for KSM Tools that included a pair of 700s and he also carried a 193 mark in the Go-Getters League. Mike Dunn accounted for a 195 average for Edward’s Accounting while Judd McAtee finished with a 192 average for Gentile Family Dentistry. Mike Goltry and Gary Gustin both finished with a 190 average in the C-W League. Mike bowled for Matt’s Place while Gary was a key member of the Quick Lube squad.
