UPDATED WITH STORY: Bonnie Leonard named to Morgan City Council
The Morgan City Council has a new member. The council on Tuesday confirmed Mayor Lee Dragna’s appointment of Bonnie Leonard to fill a vacant seat on the council. Also Tuesday, the council decided to wait for more discussion before approving a Planning & Zoning Commission recommendation to rezone a tract for a new mobile home park. They introduced an ordinance to set property tax rates for this year.

Annemarie Campbell of Patterson has been named to the Louisiana Christian University Dean’s List for the fall 2023 semester. Students were recognized in a ceremony April 16, in which they were able to recognize their parents, along with faculty and staff members who had supported them in their academic pursuits.

The Cardinals plated the game's only run in the first inning after leadoff batter Luke Zeringue hit a single to center field. Shortstop Evan Arcement's sac bunt allowed Zeringue to advance all the way to third. After Jax Triche walked, with runners on the corners, Tyler Weimer's RBI single to left brought Zeringue across home plate.
