"One of The Best Players in The Country": Cori Close Delivers Verdict on Texas Forward After Longhorns Beat UCLA
After impressing everyone with their physical prowess against the UConn Huskies in their last preseason game, the Texas Longhorns have made a statement against the ghosts of their past that kept them one game short of reaching the NCAA championship last season. The Longhorns beat UCLA 81-64, and at the center of success was someone who desperately needed redemption from her last encounter against the Bruins: Madison Booker. In their Final Four meeting last season, to say Booker struggled would be an understatement. The forward scored six points on 3-of-23 shooting, blanking all four shots from...

Travis Club opens dramatic Beau Welling course in Texas Hill Country
Member play has officially begun on the new Beau Welling-designed course at Travis Club , the 1,500-acre private community along Lake Travis about 15 miles west of Austin. For Welling, who frequently collaborates with Tiger Woods on high-profile design and interactive projects, seeing golfers on the course marked the payoff to a project that presented an unusual combination from the start: a spectacular piece of property that was every bit as challenging as it was inspiring. “I’ve worked in the Hill Country before, and so the Hill Country is super awesome and exciting,” Welling said during a recent fireside chat. “There’s a terrain and the relief and the drama that you have.” There’s plenty of it at Travis Club. The course, which stretches more than 7,300 yards from the back tees, tumbles across a rugged piece of land about 15 miles west of Austin, with steep elevation changes, rocky outcroppings, ravines and holes that offer sweeping views of Lake Travis. It’s not exactly the kind of property most golfers picture when they think of Texas. Cloudy day, but this will eventually be the fifth hole at Travis Club, a new golf community to be shaped by @beauwelling near Austin, Texas.

Texas may be the best team in the country, and it may not matter
AUSTIN, Texas - Unlike last year when Texas coach Steve Sarkisian whined about his nonconference schedule, his main complaint this year will be his conference schedule. Texas is good enough to win a national title this season, and it may not get a chance for the second consecutive year because of Florida. Or, just blame the SEC.

Texas found something that translates from practice to games
AUSTIN — Based on the inability to translate practice work into games from previous weeks, the opening statement from Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian last Thursday wasn’t worth much at the time. “Been really proud of our team this week — they have worked extremely hard,” Sarkisian...

Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian praised his running back after Texas emerged with its fifth win of the season. When asked about Terry's performance, Sarkisian said, "I thought Michael Terry was a great change-up—a little different tempo of hitting the same runs. … I think obviously Michael in the short-yardage, goal-line type stuff was effective as well. Really proud of Michael. His first real action, and I thought he stepped up really

The Texas Longhorns snapped their two-game losing streak after beating Ole Miss, and quarterback Arch Manning had some wild celebrations. Manning had struggled over the last few games, but has found a new “edge” with his job as QB1 possibly on the line against Ole Miss. The Baxter Street Boys, a fan-led podcast covering Georgia Bulldogs football and athletics, weighed in on Manning’s celebrations as the Longhorns survived a furious Ole Miss comeback in the second half. The podcast hosts wrote on X that they found the celebrations corny, especially as Manning still struggled a bit during the game.
