In the early 1900s around the 20s and 30s Tudor style homes began to make their way into United States architecture. This style is commonly characterized by gable roofs, elegant stonework in addition to stucco siding which were all common features of homes during the Tudor period in England (hence the name).

A Tudor-style home located in Berkley just went on the market and it's full of the medieval charm people know and love. While this home doesn't have the brick or wood siding traditional to Tudor-Style homes, that doesn't mean it lacks character. In fact, once you get past the front door you can't miss it.

The vintage 1924 home is located on a quiet tree-lined street at 533 Neilson Street in Berkeley, California, just blocks from Solano Ave, Memorial Park, Colusa Circle, and other popular spots in the area. If you love vintage homes mixed with modern touches, this place is a must-see!

    Character on Character

With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, the home is the perfect size for a family looking to create a place they can call their own. As you walk in the front door you will see character on character starting with the arched hallways and entryways that fill the home. The sitting room is spacious and has a brick fireplace original to the home. As you walk through the light-filled dining room you will come into the kitchen which has brightly stained wood cabinets that were custom-built and tile that fits in seamlessly with the space. The rest of the home is filled with bedrooms and bathrooms where intricate wood trim, sunshine, and arched windows are plentiful.

    Outdoor Oasis

The breakfast nook right off the kitchen leads out to a beautiful backyard with a patio big enough for a few seats, a rug, and an outdoor couch. While the patio takes up a majority of the backyard there is a stone walkway, a small bistro set, and tons of greenery that fill the rest of the outdoor space.

Tudor-style homes, especially ones in as good of shape as this, don't come around very often. So if you're in the market for a family home in Berkley, this property is a must-see.
