Operating a vehicle under the influence: Valley Parkway

A Strongsville man was arrested at about 10 p.m. May 27 after police noticed him driving recklessly on Valley Parkway.

The man, driving a Toyota Venza, turned right from eastbound Bagley Road onto southbound Valley. His speed reached 40 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Near the Lee Road intersection, the man slowed and traveled left of center. His car nearly hit a northbound vehicle head-on. Police pulled him over.

The man wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. His car smelled like alcohol. The man admitted drinking while golfing and said he drifted left of center because he was using his cell phone. He failed field sobriety tests.

Theft: West Fifth Street

A 6-foot-tall Werner multipurpose ladder that can extend to 20 feet was stolen between 3 and 3:30 p.m. May 26 from a yard on West Fifth.

The victims were not home at the time of the theft. The aluminum ladder was silver with blue handles.

Theft: Race Street

A temporary license tag was reported stolen at about 2:45 p.m. May 27 from a Honda motorcycle.

The victim first noticed the tag missing when the bike was parked outside his home on Race. However, he said the tag might have been stolen sometime over the previous week when he had parked his bike outside the Berea Recreation Center on Front Street.
