Glenwood council okays moving forward on general obligation loan agreement
(Glenwood) -- Glenwood city officials have taken the next step toward a loan agreement financing several infrastructure and equipment upgrades. Meeting in regular session Tuesday evening, the Glenwood City Council held a public hearing and, by a 3-0 vote, approved taking additional action on a proposal to enter into a general obligation loan agreement, which would authorize the city to borrow up to roughly $5.7 million. Glenwood City Administrator Amber Farnan tells KMA News the action simply allows the city to move forward with the process, adding a final amount has not been set as they continue to review interest rates with their bonding company. Farnan says those rates might impact whether or not to refinance the city's debt on the aquatic center, which is included in the $5.7 million.
