Hurricane Isaias Targets Gulfport, Mobile, and Pensacola as Category 2 Before Weakening and Bringing Indiana Up to 1.25 Inches of Rain Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Isaias became the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season Thursday morning, reaching Category 1 strength in the Gulf. The storm is expected to strengthen into a Category 2 hurricane before landfall, then weaken quickly after moving inland. Significant impacts are expected along the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. By Sunday, the weakened post-tropical system is expected to bring a steady rain to Indiana.

Cruisin’ the Coast continues Friday with adjusted schedule

GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) — Hurricane Isaias is threatening Cruisin’ the Coast, but car enthusiasts are not calling it quits. Thursday evening, Cruisin’ executive director Woody Bailey said venue hours would be adjusted because of the storm. Venues will be open Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., he said.
