CCS boys track team setting standard in Class C
2016. 2017. 2021. 2022. 2023. 2024. In eight years, six Class C track state championship trophies have been brought home from Omaha to Imperial. While the girls’ team set the standard for excellence at Chase County, the boys’ team has cemented the school’s reputation as a track school with back-to-back state titles.
Arbor Day Foundation names Imperial a 2023 Tree City USA®
Imperial was named a 2023 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation to honor its commitment to effective urban forest management. Imperial achieved Tree City USA recognition by meeting the program’s four requirements: maintaining a tree board or department, having a tree care ordinance, dedicating an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita, and hosting an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

Peyton Cox medals for WP Broncos in Omaha
Wauneta-Palisade senior Peyton Cox led a young contingent of Broncos to Omaha for the state track meet. Cox saved her best for last, jumping up the leader board from sixth to third with a throw of 39’6.25” for her final attempt. Cox qualified for finals by 0.25”.

Local college students included on Dean’s List
John Mandeville of Imperial (69033) has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s Winter 2024 Dean’s List. The winter terms run from January to May. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.
